The Special Collections & Archives Department is located on the 3rd floor of McHenry Library. We welcome students, faculty, and members of the general public to use our collections in our Reading Room.

We have moved to an electronic request system for using our reading room. Please register at aeon.library.ucsc.edu. UCSC affiliates will log in with their CruzID and CruzID Gold password.

We have special conditions for use and handling requirements that all visitors must follow.1281

Special Collections’ material does not circulate but may be paged for use within our Reading room. Advance notice is required for use of some material so that it can be retrieved from storage. 

We have moved to an electronic request system that allows researchers to make requests for reproductions and to view materials in our reading room. This system replaces paper registration and request forms for using our reading room. 

Please register at aeon.library.ucsc.edu. UCSC affiliates will log in with their CruzID and CruzID Gold password.

McHenry Library is located in the center of campus on Steinhart Road. Please be aware that there is limited public parking on campus and permits are required. Parking is strictly enforced.

 

Travel Directions & Maps to Santa Cruz:

Santa Cruz is located on the north of the Monterey Bay on the Central California coast. It is accessible from the San Francisco, San Jose, or Monterey airports. Route 1 and Highway 17 run to Santa Cruz. See Directions to UCSC Campus.


UCSC Information:

The campus is located at 1156 High Street. Santa Cruz, CA. 95064. It has two entrances. The Main Entrance is located off of Bay Street; the West Entrance is located off of Empire Grade. The information kiosk is available at the Main Entrance; temporary parking permits may be obtained at this kiosk.
